Celebrity Fantasy League Rules
1. Join the League: In order to join the Celebrity Fantasy League (the "League"), each participant must register at the Girls in the Know website.
There are two types of Leagues available to join: a public league and a private league.
Public League: If you are joining the League by yourself and would like to compete against other participants from around the country and world, join a public league, known as a Public Agency. A Public Agency is comprised of 10 individuals, known as Agents. To join a Public Agency, click on "Public Agency" on the first page of the online registration form.
Private League: If you would like to compete against your friends, co-workers or family, 0ne participant from each group needs to initially register with Girls in the Know and start a private league, known as a Private Agency. The person who begins the Private Agency is known as the Head Diva. During registration, the Head Diva must create a name for her Private Agency. The Head Diva can then invite her friends, co-workers and family to register and join her Private Agency. Members of the Private Agency are known as Agents (the Head Diva is also an Agent). There may be up to 10 Agents in a Private Agency, including the Head Diva. To become a Head Diva and start a Private Agency, click on the "Join Now" link on the girlsintheknowinc.com home page and complete the online registration form. To join a Private Agency that has already been created by a Head Diva, click on the link in the invite e-mail forwarded to you by the Head Diva or click on the "Join Now" link on the girlsintheknowinc.com home page.
2. Review Talent Roster: Agents earn points in the game based on the activities of celebrities. Agents are allowed to choose 18 celebrities to "manage" in their Talent Portfolio. Each Agent's portfolio will consist of the following combination of celebrities:
Talent is chosen from the designated Talent Roster as provided by Girls in the Know. View the current Talent Roster.
3. Draft Your Talent: A Talent Portfolio is chosen through a draft process. The draft process is where each Agent takes a turn selecting, or "drafting", celebrities from the Talent Roster until each Agent in the Agency has 18 celebrities to fill the 6 categories as listed above. Agencies have two options for the draft process; hold a draft party or use the automated draft on the League's website.
Host a Draft Party!: For a Private Agency, if all of the Agents live nearby (or are available by phone at the same time), then the Head Diva or another Agent should organize a draft party. It's a great way to begin the game and even a better excuse to get all of your friends together. The draft party can be held at anytime but the sooner you hold the draft party, the sooner you can begin the game. Once the draft party has been held, t he Head Diva will input the results by clicking on "Assign Talent to Agents" on her Preferences page.
Points are earned on a weekly basis beginning on Wednesdays of each week, and no points are earned on Tuesdays. Therefore, if the Head Diva inputs the results between Wednesday at 6:00 a.m. Central Time and Monday at 5:59 a.m. Central Time, Agents will begin to earn points beginning on the next Wednesday at 6:00 a.m. Central Time. If the Head Diva inputs the draft results between Monday 6:00 a.m. Central Time and Wednesday at 5:59 a.m. Central Time, Agents will begin to earn points beginning on the second Wednesday at 6:00 a.m. Central Time.
Use the Automated Draft: For a Private Agency, if the Agents don't live in the same city, or country, then the automated draft is a better option. During an automated draft, each Agent ranks Talent from the Talent Roster in the order that they would like them in their Talent Portfolio. We maintain a default ranking for the Talent Roster based on the average weekly points earned by a celebrity. Each Agent has the ability to modify these default rankings by clicking on "Modify Talent Roster Rankings" on her Preferences page. For example, if an Agent thinks that Johnny Depp is the number 1 celebrity despite our default Talent Roster rankings, the Agent can re-rank the default rankings to suit her preferences. An automated draft for a Private Agency will take place on the date set by the Head Diva of the Private Agency. Each Agent must input any changes to the default talent preferences prior to the automated draft.
For a Public Agency, the draft will be held through the automated draft process as described above. For a Public Agency, an automated draft will occur 48 hours after the earlier to occur of (i) the 10 th person joins the Public Agency and (ii) 2 weeks after the first person joined the Public Agency. Please note that each Public Agency will have at least 4 Agents. If it takes longer than 2 weeks to fill the Public Agency with 4 Agents, the automated draft will occur 48 hours after the 4 th Agent joins the Public Agency. The date set for the automated draft will appear under "Agency News" on the Standings page so keep your eyes posted. Each Agent must input any changes to the default talent preferences prior to the automated draft.
View detailed draft instructions.
5. Manage Your Talent: Once the Talent Portfolios have been posted, each Agent must choose only two celebrities from each category to "promote" each week (i.e. each Agent will have two female movie stars, two male movie stars, two female TV stars, two male TV stars, two female singers and two male singers that she will be promoting for that week). The talent that an Agent chooses to promote for the week is called "Active Talent" and the talent that is not promoted is called "Inactive Talent". An Agent can choose which talent to promote for each week at any time between at 12:01 a.m. Central Time on Tuesday and 5:59 a.m. Central Time on Wednesday. An Agent determines which celebrities she will be promoting by clicking on her team's link from the Standings page. An agent then can choose "Make Active or "Make Inactive for each celebrity in her Talent Portfolio. An Agent can make changes to her Talent Portfolio as many times as she likes between 12:01 a.m. Central Time on Tuesday and 5:59 a.m. Central Time on Wednesday. In the event that an Agent fails to make any changes to the Active Talent Portfolio for a week, the Agent will earn points on the Active Talent Portfolio from the prior week.
Girls in the Know will continue to update the Talent Portfolio and may introduce new celebrities throughout your 10-week session. Girls in the Know will highlight the addition of a new celebrity on your Agency's Standings page. One Agent from your Agency may add the new celebrity to her Talent Portfolio. The first Agent to add the new celebrity to her Talent Portfolio will manage the new celebrity. However, in order to add the new celebrity to a Talent Portfolio, an Agent must release a celebrity from her Talent Portfolio in the same category. For example, if Angelina Jolie is added as a new celebrity in the Female Movie Star category, an Agent must release a Female Movie Star from her Talent Portfolio, say Jennifer Aniston (although we're sure that none of you would trade in Jennifer Aniston for Angelina Jolie, like you know who). It will pay to check your Agency's Standings page often to snag any new celebrities before the rest of the Agents in your Agency.
6. Start Earning Points: An Agent earns points based on the activities of the Active Talent in her Talent Portfolio in the categories designated by Girls in the Know. Points are earned for the period beginning on Wednesday, 6:00 a.m. Central Time through Monday, 12:00 a.m. Central Time. No points will be earned from any celebrity activities that occur on Tuesdays (i.e. for the period beginning on Tuesday, 12:01 a.m. Central Time and ending Wednesday, 5:59 a.m. Central Time). Remember, Tuesdays are when Agents can drop or add Talent and choose who they will promote during the upcoming week. All decisions regarding scoring in the Celebrity Fantasy League will be made by a Girls in the Know, Inc. representative whose decisions are final and binding on matters relating to the awarding of points in this League.
Following are the categories for which points will be awarded in the Celebrity Fantasy League (categories and corresponding point awards are subject to change at any time at Girls in the Know's discretion):

8. Determine the Winners: An Agent's scores will be updated throughout each week during the 10-week session. The Head Diva and/or the Agents in her Agency can determine the prize (if any) for the winning Agent in their Agency (i.e. dinner out, bottle of wine, spa gift certificate, the right to be Head Diva for the next 10 weeks, a subscription to your favorite celebrity news magazine - It's up to you, so be creative!).
For a Public Agency, the same goes. The members of each Public Agency can determine the prize (if any) for the top score in a Public Agency.
9. Prizes: Girls in the Know reserves the right to sponsor prize giveaways. Any current contest will be advertised on our home page at www.girlsintheknowinc.com.
