General Draft Instructions

1. Each Agent manages a Talent Portfolio. A Talent Portfolio consists of 18 celebrities:

  • 3 Female Movie Stars
  • 3 Male Movie Stars
  • 3 Female TV Stars
  • 3 Male TV Stars
  • 3 Female Singers
  • 3 Male Singers

An Agent decides which talent to manage by picking from a Talent Roster during the draft process. View the Talent Roster.

2. There are two choices for drafting the celebrity talent: an automated draft or a draft party. In a Private Agency the Head Diva will determine which drafting option to use and input her choice on the Preferences page. For a Public Agency, an automated draft will be held.

Automated Draft

1. For a Public Agency, an Agent's Talent Portfolio will be chosen through an automated draft.

2. In a Private Agency, the Head Diva should choose the automated draft process if the Agents are located throughout the country or world and are unable to meet together (personally or by phone) at the same time to conduct the draft. The Head Diva can choose the automated draft process by clicking on "Automated Draft" on the Preferences page.

3. During an automated draft, each Agent ranks the Talent Roster in the order that they would like them in their Talent Portfolio. We have ranked the Talent Roster by the average points earned by the celebrity. By viewing the Talent Page by rank, an Agent can view the rank of each celebrity in the Talent Roster. If an Agent wishes to modify these default rankings for her draft, the Agent can click on "Modify Talent Roster Rankings" on the Preferences page. For example, if an Agent thinks that Mariah Carey is the number 1 celebrity despite our rankings, the Agent can override our default rankings to place Mariah Carey as their number 1 celebrity. When the automatic draft occurs, the software will look to the modified Talent Roster when filling that Agent's Talent Portfolio.

4. For a Public Agency, an automated draft will occur 48 hours after the earlier to occur of (i) the 10th person joins the Public Agency and (ii) 2 weeks after the first person joined the Public Agency. Please note that each Public Agency will have at least 4 Agents. If it takes longer than 2 weeks to fill the Public Agency with 4 Agents, the automated draft will occur 48 hours after the 4th Agent joins the Public Agency. The date set for the automated draft will appear under "Agency News" on the Standings page so keep your eyes posted. An Agent will need to make any changes to the default rankings before the automated draft occurs.

5. The Head Diva must set the date for the automated draft by clicking on "Set Draft Date" on her Preferences Page. The date chosen by the Head Diva for the automated draft will appear under "Agency News" on the Standings Page so be on the lookout. An Agent will need to make any changes to the default rankings before then.

6. The 10-week session will begin on the first Wednesday after the automated draft occurs. In the event that the automated draft occurred between Monday after 6:00 a.m. Central Time and Wednesday at 6:00 a.m. Central Time, the 10-week session will begin on the second Wednesday after the automated draft occurs. Each Agent must choose her active talent before then.

Draft Party

1. If all of the Agents can get together, a draft party would be more fun. A great excuse to have a Girls Night In! If one or more Agents can't make it live, they can always call in to the party to choose their talent or give a friend their talent preferences.

2. The Head Diva can choose the Draft Party process by clicking on "Draft Party" on her Preferences page.

3. The Head Diva should print out the following documents in preparation for the Draft Party:

  • Draft Board (one for each Agent)
  • Talent Roster (one for each Agent)

Find all of the documents that you will need for the draft.

4. The Head Diva will need to determine a draft order. You can pick numbers out of a hat, pick a celebrity's birthday and determine whose birthday is closest, etc.

5. The Head Diva will need to determine any rules for the draft, including how long each Agent will have to make her talent choice (3-4 minutes should work).

6. The Agent who is first may pick any celebrity in any category that she wishes. The draft will continue with the draft order until each Agent has chosen one celebrity. Then the draft will reverse order. For example, if there are 4 Agents, the order will go 1-2-3-4-4-3-2-1-1-2-3-4, etc.

7. An Agent may not choose a celebrity if they have previously been chosen.

8. An Agent may not choose a celebrity if they have already filled all of their spots for a talent category. For example, an Agent must choose 3 Female Movie Stars, no more no less.

9. An Agent needs to keep track of her Talent Portfolio using the Draft Board throughout the Draft Party. At the end of the party, each Agent needs to give the Head Diva her Draft Board so that the Head Diva can input the draft results into the website.

10. The Head Diva then inputs the results of the Draft Party by clicking on "Assign Talent to Agents" on her Preferences page.

11. For a Private Agency that did a draft party, the 10-week session will begin on the first Wednesday after the Head Diva input the results of the draft party. In the event that the Head Diva input the results of the draft party between Monday after 6:00 a.m. Central Time and Wednesday at 6:00 a.m. Central Time, the 10-week session will begin on the second Wednesday after the Head Diva input the draft results. Each Agent must choose her active talent before then.
